No. you don't need to download the app. However. to use the Magic Button for one touch access to your playlists. you need to download the Ultimate Ears BOOM APP.

Can the speaker connect with other Ultimate Ears speakers?

Yes. EPICBOOM can connect with BOOM 3. MEGABOOM 3 and HYPERBOOM using the Party Up feature in the BOOM app. It cannot connect with WONDERBOOM series.

Does EPICBOOM has a voice assistance feature?

No. EPICBOOM doesn't have a voice assistant feature.
